Position Summary
The General Manager reports directly to the COO and is responsible for the success of Passenger's East Coast client services and sales. This is an important leadership position with responsibilities that include the growth, profitability , team staffing and support. This is a geographic leadership position encompassing both Client Services and Sales based on the East Coast.
Responsibilities
- Understand the dynamics of the client’s business and their category (competitive set, forthcoming category developments, industry issues, etc.) while pro-actively championing the role of the Company within that business in order to grow and diversify business
- Identification and development of new strategic accounts, including proactive prospecting, presenting of company capabilities, proposal writing (designing and pricing studies) and other business development activities
- Build, manage and provide guidance, advice and mentoring to client service staff to ensure that client objectives are being met and projects are executed profitably and completed with high client satisfaction
- Ensure that client services resources and staff are managed efficiently; provide an environment that fosters the development and ongoing learning of staff
- Establish, strengthen and maintain relationships with people at all levels of the target accounts
- Develop sales strategy, identify business opportunities and develop and execute plans to meet objectives
- Articulate sales strategy to sales professionals and develop tactics to operationalize the sales model so that each sales professional understands what is expected of them
- Ensure the sales team develops appropriate sales plans, including key accounts, decision-makers and strategies for achieving revenue growth; track individual performance against sales plans and revenue objectives
- Provide Executive team with updates on progress sales is making against plan
- Develop and provide counsel to sales professionals to maximize individual effectiveness, team effectiveness and productivity
- Secure resources necessary to enable the team to maximize their success
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Advertising or related field
- 10+ years of experience in interactive/digital/online, CRM, interactive marketing, direct marketing or research; background within a technology setting a huge plus
- A proven track record of building deep relationships with executive teams in one or more industry sectors with existing contacts or “rolodex” with target companies a huge plus
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex negotiations to successful closure and delivery
- Interpersonal industry relationships a must
- A documented history of closing deals directly with clients, as well as with agencies
- Superior written and verbal communication skills; Superior listening and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills that encourage team cooperation, promote enthusiasm, and foster strategic thinking; Ability to inspire creative solutions in all agency departments
- Proven success simultaneously managing multiple client relationships with high profile brands
