Manager, Information Architecture

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Position Summary

The Manager of Information Architecture is a key member of the Product Management team, responsible for planning and designing the presentation of information within the Passenger platform. Working closely with Product Managers, Product Innovation, Client Services and the Development team the Manager of Information Architecture will ensure usability of product requirements, taking into account the overall goals and the best way to articulate those goals to the end user. The Manager of Information Architecture will be highly involved in the ideation of features and development of product strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a solid understanding of the application, user functionality and ongoing business requirements
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the overall product portfolio, product features and an understanding of competitive strengths and weaknesses
  • Define site architecture and navigation that serves as a blueprint upon which all other aspects are built
  • Perform user experience audits, user profiling and scenario generation
  • Create wireframes, site maps, schematics, process maps, feature lists, mockups, visual specification, working prototypes and other artifacts to describe the intended user experience

Requirements

  • BA or BS in Graphic/Visual Arts, Computer Science, Human Computer Interaction, Information Sciences or a related area
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in information architecture, user experience and/or interaction design
  • Must be expert in user-centered design methods, with a strong knowledge of site design and Web design (HCI, HTML, CSS)
  • Knowledge of architecture-related software (Illustrator, Visio, Photoshop, Acrobat, Dreamweaver, SQL)
  • Strong knowledge of user interface design processes and methodology, including experience working on large, complex sites
  • Experience translating user research and user observation into design decisions
  • Attention to detail with strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent organization, documentation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to recognize, communicate and navigate multiple dependencies
  • Self motivated, proactive. Able to assimilate quickly and multi-task
